Ford chose Loft on Lake as the perfect setting to show their newest vehicle, the Transit Connect, to the media and small business owners in the Chicago area..

Despite a struggling economy, Ford finds a way to target small business owners with an innovative, yet affordable, new vehicle. On June 24, 2009 the Ford Motor Company introduced the Transit Connect to Chicago at Loft on Lake, as part of a multi-state media drive event.

Chicago was the 8th stop on Ford Motor Company's 14 city tour to introduce the Transit Connect to both business owners and the press. The vehicle is designed with small business owners in mind and specific for everyone.

As part of the promotional agenda, 18 Transit Connects were parked in front of Loft on Lake, waiting to take the media on a predetermined route to 1 of 3 local businesses. The business owners, like Jim Lazar from Marcello's Catering, explained how they might utilize and customize the Transit Connect for their purposes. The media got to experience the versatility, maneuverability and the volume capacity of the vehicle, which sets it apart from its competitors. When they weren't out driving the Transit Connect, they were back at Loft on Lake asking questions and watching video demonstrations while enjoying lunch.

"With its urban location and industrial setting, Loft on Lake was an ideal location and exactly what we were hoping to find in Chicago", said one of the event managers for Ford Motor Company. "Its close proximity to a variety of small businesses was a logistical plus. The extra-wide rear doors at street level allowed positioning of an inverted vehicle inside the Loft space, a feature that sealed the deal for Ford. With its distinctive interior and artistic feel, Loft on Lake provided an intimate workshop setting for introduction of the Transit Connect. And, the Loft owners were more than helpful in facilitating event details for us".
