Madrid will be taken over by live music, light projections, street theatre and parks, museums and galleries will stay open all night for special tours. The ten-hour Noche en Blanco or White Night will be taking place on September 19th.

Those jetting off to sunny Madrid this September will have the chance to attend one of the city's most entertaining and action-packed cultural events.

White Night, or Noche en Blanco as it is known locally, is celebrated annually on a full moon, with this year's festival taking place on September 19th.

Activities are held across Madrid from sunrise to sundown and visitors can expect everything from traditional flamenco dancing to art exhibitions.

Many of the city's art galleries, parks and museums stay open late into the night, offering special guided tours to holidaymakers and local residents.

There will also be light projection displays, street theatre performances and interactive activities, with something on offer for the whole family.
