EGO City Launches New Features, Shows Growth in Digital Goods Revenue

EGO City by Punch Entertainment increases user retention and strengthens its virtual goods business model with a variety of new features.

PUNCH ENTERTAINMENT (http://www.punch-entertainment.com), a developer and publisher of community games for the Web and mobile devices, launched several new features in its award winning EGO City social game (http://www.egocity.com) and announced strong growth in its virtual goods business model.

EGO City is a social game where players create custom super-avatars that play games, engage in fun activities and interact with other players in a dynamic virtual world. EGO uniquely enables players' avatars to become an integral part of various games, activities and interactions. Players can play casino games like Texas Hold'Em, get smart with brain games like Word Nerdz, battle other EGOs in EGO Fighting Championship, or flirt and play in the Love Lounge. EGO offers an unparalleled interaction and animation system allowing players to express themselves and interact with others in an almost infinite number of ways.

New features include:

  •     An all-new leveling system allowing players to increase their status by playing games, interacting with other players and engaging in other exciting activities. Higher levels bring new powers, abilities, exclusive access, and unique rewards to players
  •     More ways to earn in-game currencies, and now even the ability for players to "invest" their currencies to earn even more.
  •     Loads of new market items. From medieval battle armor to magical fairy wings, and stunning viewscapes to interactive minigames, the market in EGO City has a vast array of decorative, functional, and just plain frivolous items for EGOs and rooms

EGO City has recently seen strong growth in digital goods revenue, growing digital goods revenue four-fold each month over the past several months, and dramatically increasing retention and average revenue per user (ARPU).
