O/E announced today the launch of SafetyIMPACT! Mobile, an innovation designed to improve and streamline the identification and documentation of workplace hazards. SafetyIMPACT! Mobile is designed to enhance O/E’s proprietary Safety Management System. SafetyIMPACT! Mobile greatly improves the efficiency and accuracy of hazard data through the use of wireless technology.

One of the key activities within the SafetyIMPACT! process is a safety inspection. During a safety inspection supervisors walk their work areas and identify hazards. These hazards are then entered into a database and tracked through to correction. SafetyIMPACT! Mobile allows the supervisor to enter data remotely, allowing him or her to input information without leaving the hazard. Once a hazard is in the application, a team of operations professionals draw reports based on this data to interpret safety trends and implement appropriate countermeasures that are designed to make the company a safer place for employees.
“Obviously, having the ability to enter hazards immediately from anywhere on the shop floor is a huge value-add,” explains Phil La Duke, Director of Performance Improvement for O/E.
