Distance learning school Stratford Career Institute announces the launch of a new Social Studies course to its high school diploma program aimed at helping students find success in the workplace.

The goal of the new course, titled "Social Issues in the Workplace," is to preserve the fundamental teachings of social studies and sociology, while also offering students a more practical application of the subject by detailing the more prominent social behaviors found in today's contemporary work place.

Topics included in "Social Issues in the Workplace" include team participation, honesty, ethics, discrimination, developing strong leadership skills, dealing with stress, goal setting and more.

Overall, the new course has been designed to provide Stratford's high school diploma program students with valuable education and advice for thriving and surviving in today's comprehensive workplace.

"Since the majority of our students are looking to acquire a new or better job as result of their education, being able to quickly apply what they've learned in their studies within the workforce is equally important," said Michael Boulay, Vice President of Student Services at Stratford Career Institute.

Stratford's high school diploma program also covers more traditional subject areas including Social Studies, American History, Science, American Government, Mathematics, and English. Each module is designed to teach fundamental knowledge on the particular subject along with more contemporary and practical applications specifically designed for today's returning adult student.

Stratford recently updated the American History and American Government modules of their high school diploma program as part of the school's quality assurance in maintaining up-to-date and relevant study materials for its students.

"It is important to us as educators to continue to offer our students the most up-to-date and applicable program materials available," added Mr. Boulay.

Stratford Career Institute is a distance learning correspondence school that employs a distinct educational training method that allows students to complete their studies and earn their career diploma at home rather than spending hours in a classroom.

Contemporary online tools combined with traditional correspondence education give students the flexibility to study when it is convenient for them. Stratford allows their students up to two years to complete their studies.

Stratford Career Institute is a privately owned correspondence school with corporate offices in Vermont and Montreal.
