After many years of research and development the rugged Minimizer MIN PCG1000 off road fenders have been selected for use on the Oshkosh® M-ATV (MRAP All Terrain Vehicle).
The Oshkosh® M-ATV is a medium duty next generation fighting vehicle engineered specifically for difficult missions - to move our fighting men and women in and get them out as safely as possible. It incorporates rugged, durable components and systems for maximum Warfighter mobility and survivability.
Enter the Minimizer.
"We're really proud our fenders are being used by our soldiers," said Craig Kruckeberg, Minimizer Chief Visionary. "We've been working on modifying our existing designs and applications to fit perfectly for this military application."
Oshkosh® Corporation, a long time customer of Minimizer, designs and builds the world's toughest specialty trucks and truck bodies and access equipment by working shoulder-to-shoulder with the people who use them.
Oshkosh® purchasing agent Jon Ley summed it up best when he said: "The Minimizer was the perfect fit. It met the Department of Defense specs for durability, including the Arizona proving ground tests for extreme hot and cold temperature resistance and durability. It could be delivered consistently and on time in the quantities we needed. It uses universal parts that are easily adaptable and flexible."
"The engineers and team at Minimizer went above and beyond to make sure this fender was spot on, including new tooling for the creation of a custom drill hole pattern. They are a world-class vendor and in the top 10% or higher of suppliers I work with for quality and service" continued Ley.
Craig Kruckeberg added, "We modified the Minimizer MIN PCG1000 which was originally developed for use on off-road vehicles in the construction industry. It has to work hard: The fender protects the loads, protects the soldiers, protects those that are in front or behind the truck at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour and in extreme conditions. The soldiers have reported they use them to stand on during patrols. The Minimizer is that tough."
