The board of Nexis Holdings Limited (http://www.nexisholdings.com) advise that it is presently in negotiations with a party in India for the establishment of seven plants in various states in India. Such discussions have been underway for the past six months.
Key executives from Nexis have now been issued official invitations to visit India, with the intention of:
- visiting proposed sites for such plants;
- meeting with senior government officials;
- concluding negotiations for the establishment of a joint venture.
It is expected that the joint venture agreement and contracts for plants in India will be entered during 2009.
The board of Nexis Holdings Limited will provide details on the above project in coming months.
Nexis is in the business of establishing Nexis plants and distributing Nexis building panels in a number of countries. Nexis manufacturing plants use a proprietary "Green" technology to produce high volumes of building panels by processing mixed dry solid waste that would ordinarily be destined for landfills. A large Nexis plant can process up to 750,000 tons of municipal solid waste per year, in order to deliver up to 80,000 homes. The company's standard business model is for Nexis to own the plants and retain a 50% interest in the marketing/distribution business operated under license by a local partner. Nexis presently has contracts for over 8 plants in a number of countries.
Nexis Holdings Limited is listed on the Deutsche Boerse under the ticker symbol NHN.
