Double Glazing Forum Reaches 1,000 Visitors

The recently launched Double Glazing Forum.com today reached its one thousandth visitor. Started as a hobby by a consumer rights specialist and a retired homeowner, the forum brings together reviews of double glazing companies, DIY tips, and double glazing news, both from within the industry and as commentary on government decisions and how they affect UK homeowners.

In the near future we are going to look at involving the bigger companies in the site, with the hope that they will bite the bullet and sign in under professional profiles, rather than continuing the cloak and dagger strategies which plague many of the other review forums.

Just three months after it launched, Double Glazing Forum today reached its first milestone: its one thousandth unique visitor.

The site aims to create a resource for homeowners looking to research companies before making the expensive, and often confusing, step of purchasing double glazing.

James Situnyikia, who has worked as a consumer rights advisor and now writes for the forum, said today that "It is overwhelming that what started out as a hobby to be funded by adsense has taken off in this way. The aim now is to keep building the amount of information on the site until it is the biggest resource online for double glazing advice, reviews and tips."

James continued "Our ultimate aim is to create an atmosphere where the double glazing companies feel they can respond to complaints honestly and without hiding. It is human nature to complain, and we want positive as well as negative feedback on the double-glazing-forum.com pages.

"In the near future we are going to look at involving the bigger companies in the site, with the hope that they will bite the bullet and sign in under professional profiles, rather than continuing the cloak and dagger strategies which plague many of the other review forums."

The forum is free to join, and offers visitors the chance to recommend news stories which they would find useful.

The site also keeps an up to date list of double glazing companies who have gone bankrupt, and data on the major double glazing firms in the UK - Anglian Windows, Everest Windows, Safestyle Windows and Zenith Windows.

In addition,double-glazing-forum stands out from other review forums by providing readers with regularly updated news on the double glazing and home improvement industries - this month it looks at whether original features are a help or hindrance when it comes to reselling a property - and gives consumers the platform to write reviews of local and national companies.
