A2B Tracking Solutions Inc has been named as a sub-contractor to CDO Technologies in the U.S. Army's AIT-IV contract award. Announcement of the indefinite delivery/indifferent quantity (ID/IQ) contract, which is worth more than $400 million, and given to multiple companies over three years, was made by the Army's Information Technology, E-Commerce, and Commercial Contracting Center (ITEC4).

As the foremost supplier of software system and service solutions for the Department of Defense IUID (item unique identification) MIL STD 130 mandate, A2B Tracking Solutions was chosen to provide IUID products and services in an overall automatic identification (AIT) initiative. A2B's UID Comply!® data management software and IUID services are currently deployed at hundreds of military and DoD contractor sites around the world.

A2B currently has hundreds of IUID installations at military posts and DoD contractors around the world. "A2B was able to demonstrate, and then deliver on, the value to us in using their data management software solution," said Major Charles Jung, US Army, Red River Army Depot. "We were looking for a partner that had the subject matter expertise that we could rely on to help us move forward with an IUID implementation plan. The A2B team has far exceeded this management teams' expectations during the past few years, staying ahead of all the dips, curves, and changes in the IUID policy."

"Inclusion in this award is further confirmation that A2B software and services have become the enterprise standard across the military," said A2B President Peter Collins. "We are delighted to be working with the CDO team, a group we respect highly."

In addition to IUID, the Army anticipates applications for AIT-IV to extend from inventory and warehouse environments and large, open-area storage facilities to maintenance, repair and tracking facilities, entry and exit points of military facilities and roadside installations, as well as restricted office and laboratory environments, the military transportation community and petroleum distribution points.
