Enabling Technologies Corp., a leading Microsoft Unified Communications Voice Specialized Partner, announces the release of OCS for Blackboard - an add-on application designed specifically for Higher Education Universities and Colleges. This application integrates Office Communications Server R2 and the ubiquitous Blackboard application making it even easier for students, professors, and administrators to dynamically connect, share and communicate.
OCS for Blackboard consists of a rich web client as well as a powerlink connector to the Blackboard system. The Course, Users, Teachers as well as Institution information is automatically populated into the Office Communicator. The user is then able to see the Presence of the professor or fellow student and pick the best way to communicate. The user needs only to login to their Blackboard account and this automatically authenticates them to OCS.
The OCS for Blackboard application was developed by Enabling Technologies' development company: ETC DevCorp. The Enabling Technologies Corp. sales force as well as other Enabling business partners will distribute the product. Higher Education Institutions can download the 45 day trial link by visiting http://www.enablingtechcorp.com.
"The Higher Education Universities that we have contacted are very excited to trial the OCS for Blackboard application," says Bill Vollerthum, President of Enabling Technologies. Knowing the presence of the professor / student can streamline communications between the two parties and often be the difference between a student getting the necessary information for the assignment in a timely manner.
