Allsup Expands Free Online Community for People with Disabilities and Those Eligible for Medicare

Navigating government programs such as Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Medicare now is easier thanks to enhancements to Allsup Place, a free online community offered by Allsup, a nationwide provider of Social Security disability representation and Medicare services.

The enhanced Allsup Place provides people with additional resources to understand how they can better benefit from these programs. New features further personalize and refine SSDI representation and Medicare plan-selection services for Allsup customers.

Allsup Place is a dynamic online community introduced last fall to provide comprehensive resources, forums and information for individuals with disabilities. There is no cost, and registrants include Allsup clients and visitors. The community's latest enhancements expand the information, resources and customized services offered to users.

"Allsup Place provides us with another outlet for answering the hundreds of questions people have about their Medicare choices and eligibility for Social Security disability," said Paul Gada, personal financial planning director for Allsup.

"We are driven by the needs of our clients with disabilities and our Medicare customers to continue improving our online services," said Gada. "Each step Allsup takes improves our interaction across this online community and ensures that people have access to the information they need to make informed choices."

Added Features for People with Disabilities

Increased personalization is a significant enhancement that affects several sections of Allsup Place. Allsup clients can access a secure portal using Allsup Place to review and submit information for their Social Security disability claims. This service now includes a MyClaim section with greater customization capabilities.

Inside MyClaim, clients can get more details on the status of their disability claim, access reports and important account information, and conveniently submit medical updates or other details that may affect their claim. Clients who have received their SSDI award now can access details that include their SSDI date awarded and an electronic version of their award letter.

Allsup Place users can find additional information and Web resources about specific disabilities. The resource section now includes information on more than two dozen conditions. Registrants also can access headline news and Web links to support organizations and financial assistance specific to their medical conditions, location and circumstances.

New Medicare Services and More

Just in time for 2010 Medicare open enrollment, individuals can use Allsup Place to learn more about this government healthcare program. They can determine if they are Medicare eligible and receive additional Medicare plan-selection assistance with Allsup Medicare Advisor (SM).

This service offers in-depth guidance and an impartial analysis of all Medicare options available to individuals, and helps them choose the plan that best fits their personal needs and budget. Now Allsup Medicare Advisor customers can securely review information, including their own custom Allsup Medicare Advisor report and other details from their customer portal on Allsup Place.

Other new features available to Allsup Place users include MyCalendar, a printable personalized calendar where participants may schedule appointments and tasks, and set reminders for their convenience. Allsup Place has several forums for asking questions and discussing topics important to community members. These forums are moderated by Allsup's SSDI, Medicare and personal finance experts.

"Seeking SSDI benefits and evaluating Medicare choices are both very important matters that affect people's health and financial well-being," said Gada. "We want to make sure that whether people have concerns at four o'clock in the afternoon or four o'clock in the morning, there are resources available to help them. Allsup Place is one way to achieve this."

Allsup Place is a free service available from the Allsup Web site (http://www.allsup.com ). Registration is required to gain access to certain sections of the site. A step-by-step demo also is available to anyone seeking more information.
