Whether a customer is browsing through the local tack shop or surfing the web, buying a new saddle can be a tough decision. Many horse owners appreciate HorseSaddleShop.com's downloadable gullet templates to check the fit of their horse. The online saddle shop also features very detailed photographs of their 560 saddles in stock, not to mention a generous two week return policy. Yet even after customers have narrowed down their choices, it can be hard to push the "checkout" button. Saddle expert Charlie Hueni spends most of his time helping customers on the phone. He answers questions about the saddles, diagnoses fitting problems, and helps customers pick out what would be best for them and their horse. Customers sometimes mention that it's hard to just look at pictures of the saddles in deciding what they want. So the saddle experts took their products a step further and began making videos.
The first two videos in a soon-to-be series give customers a close-up look at two of the most popular saddles: the Billy Cook Arbuckle Wade Ranch and the Dakota Flex Tree Trail Saddle. The Billy Cook Ranch saddle comes in at #8 on the bestsellers list and the Dakota is #6. Charlie Hueni, who stars in the videos, shows customers every angle of the saddles and points out the main features. "Videos give a more realistic picture of what our products look like," stated Hueni. "You can see me move the saddle around, and even hear the new leather squeak. You get a good feel for what the product will be like when you get it. So far we've had very positive feedback on beginning the video series."
The rest of the video series will feature saddles from high-quality manufacturers like Tucker, Fabtron, and Dakota. In addition to doing product reviews, the saddle experts also hope to do informative videos on horse care and saddle fit.
