At the NCTC Independent Show in Grapevine, Texas, ZCorum announced the launch of TruVizion, a network data analytics application for cable broadband providers.

ZCorum has been at the forefront in assisting independent cable companies with a variety of broadband services over the years. Arthur Skinner, Vice President of Business Development at ZCorum, spoke of a new application called TruVizion as being another significant event in his company's long history of helping cable providers reduce costs and increase efficiency in their daily operations. "We've been providing managed broadband services, network management and end user technical support for broadband providers for more than 12 years, including developing proprietary tools to help our Affiliates better manage their businesses. We are excited to announce TruVizion, which is an application that offers a new level of insight into the cable plant, enabling service providers to better understand the performance of their network, and most importantly, to easily use that information to enhance their customers' Internet experience," stated Skinner.

Skinner explained that TruVizion is a significant upgrade over the company's previous cable modem management application. Like the former tool, TruVizion includes both real-time and historical modem diagnostics information, but also aggregates information from the CMTS, making it easier for cable broadband providers to visualize network information. For example, with one click on the CMTS tab, an extensive view of network health is presented on a single screen so that plant managers and engineers can quickly and easily view the highest priority issues regarding RF levels, bandwidth, SNR, packet errors and modem status. The application can also overlay customer data and modem status in a map that helps network administrators pinpoint problems, or potential problems, and then export the data to create work orders for plant engineers and technicians. In addition, from any report you can also drill into view real-time modem statistics for a subscriber, and drill in further to view interactive graphs of those statistics over the last 24 hours.

TruVizion also makes it easy for technical support representatives to assist customers in troubleshooting, as well as alert them to issues that may be affecting other customers. "The Quick Search tool is available from every screen in the application and allows the support technician to easily locate the customer's account and modem information. From there, a single click provides access to color-coded modem and EMTA statistics for that subscriber that are easy to read and interpret, allowing the support representative to quickly diagnose issues. Plus, on the same screen you can can see at a glance whether there are issues on that customer's port that may be negatively affecting other customers who share the same port," Skinner said. TruVizion also includes VoIP diagnostic tools support technicians can use to troubleshoot the cable provider's VoIP services by viewing connected lines, call history and MOS scores, and even performing GR-909 loop diagnostics, if authorized.

In addition to data aggregation, analytics and diagnostics, TruVizion includes a monitoring and alerting engine that allows staff to be notified as issues occur, such as a sudden drop in modems or an increase in out-of-spec RF levels. Users can customize thresholds for alerts and warnings, as well as specify the manner in which alerts are handled, giving cable providers more flexibility to discover and address network issues to improve their customers' experience with the broadband service. "We've been working diligently to tailor TruVizion to give cable broadband providers exactly the information they need about their network in a format that is comprehensive, but still easy to understand and use," added Skinner.

TruVizion is available as a hosted application for cable broadband providers and is compatible with most DOCSIS-qualified CMTS equipment and with all DOCSIS-certified modems. Visit http://www.truvizion.com for more information or call 1-800-909-9441 to request a live demo of TruVizion.
