We had be trending towards 12 million a few times this year, but to finally break it was very satisfying. The entire newsroom contributed to the effort. Our readers also have to be giving some of the credit. User generated photos made up a large chunk of traffic in July.
Middletown, NY (PRWEB) August 10, 2009
July marked the first time recordonline.com surpassed the 12 million page-view mark.
Recordonline.com is the award-winning Web site of the Times Herald-Record, an 80,000-circulation Dow Jones Local Media Group newspaper in New York's Hudson Valley. The Web site's record readership was a mix of staff-generated content and high interest in user-generated content.
"Finally surpassing the 12 million mark was a huge win for us," Online News Editor Erik Gliedman said. "We had be trending towards 12 million a few times this year, but to finally break it was very satisfying. The entire newsroom contributed to the effort. Our readers also have to be giving some of the credit. User generated photos made up a large chunk of traffic in July."
This is the second time this year recordonline.com has broken its page-view record by a factor of 1 million, passing the 11 million page-view mark in January.
