Retail Data Names New President, Invests for the Future, Celebrates 20 Years Serving Retail Customers

Richmond, VA company invests in new management, launches additional products, opens division to best serve its growing customer base

Retail Data, LLC, a global leader in retail intelligence, has announced that Joseph A. Oliver, III has joined the company as its new President, effective immediately. Oliver has held senior management positions in the finance and retail industries throughout his 20 year career.

Christine Cottrell, Founder & CEO of Retail Data, said, "Joe's retail management background and fresh perspective will be strong assets as we grow and strive to implement best operating practices across the company. We are fortunate to be adding customers and products in a number of areas, and investing to expand our management team is a logical step as we grow Retail Data to the next level."

Oliver will assume direct oversight for sales, customer service and certain operating functions as the company adds clients in additional retail sectors and introduces new business intelligence tools for retail clients.

Oliver stated, "I have known the Founders and their management team for over a decade and am thrilled to be joining this growing company that is investing in its bright future. Retailers have to work hard to win and keep their clients in this tough economy. Retail Data is the leader in collecting the pricing and promotional intelligence that retailers need to compete and prosper."

In addition, David Cottrell will assume the position of Chairman of Retail Data and will remain actively involved in the company's operations and strategic decisions.

Oliver's hiring continues a series of recent investments as Retail Data celebrates its 20th anniversary in business this summer. The company has added several human resources and technology professionals and is interviewing to grow its sales and customer service teams. In addition, Retail Data has introduced new software applications including Snag-a-price™ and Marketvue™to help customers make better pricing, competitor indexing, category management, and distribution decisions. In 2008, Retail Data launched VenSource™, a new division providing data collection, mystery shopping and in-store compliance services to clients in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector.
