While the economic stimulus debate continues, one Washington, DC area hotel is providing a meetings bailout to help businesses and boost the local economy with no political strings attached.

With businesses cutting events and slicing budgets, the Hilton Alexandria Old Town is offering a solution to meeting planners working with clients who are cutting back or eliminating meetings for 2010. The hotel is offering a $10,000 meeting bailout to help one lucky business host a meeting for free and drive traffic to the Alexandria area.

The hotel is asking meeting planners across the U.S. to share how current economic conditions are impacting travel and meeting budgets and will award one free meeting at the hotel. Applicants are asked to describe how a planned meeting is critical to stimulating future business for their company, benefits the local Alexandria economy, or if and how the organization has deep charitable roots , meeting planners. Entries could qualify applicants to win a free two day meeting or event at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town.

Meeting Planners are being asked to submit their stories, in 200 words or less, to the Hilton Alexandria Old Town via this web link (http://www.alexandriahilton.com/hiltonalexfreemeeting) prior to October 31st, 2009. Submissions will be collected and judged and a winner will be selected by the hotel in its sole determination prior to November 30th, 2009.
