Geocaching is an activity I haven't done enough, and I'd love to talk more about it with real geocachers

James Loudon worked for three decades setting up the backbone of the world's most advanced telecommunications network: the internet. With a new website and blog, he will provide GPS devices, which have a strong link to global communications, and also seek to educate others about how GPS devices work.
"I'm a boater and outdoorsman, but what first got me interested in starting a GPS website was hearing about geocaching on the news," said James Loudon. "I worked in telecommunications for about thirty years, and for me, just the concept of geocaching is fascinating."
Loudon is the founder of http://www.Retail-gps.com, a brand new website that offers a range of GPS devices including digital compasses, car GPS tracking devices, and handheld GPS units.
In addition, Loudon has future plans to expand the website to cover GPS devices with a more specific focus on geocaching. "Geocaching is so popular right now, and I think in the future there will be a huge demand for geocaching GPS units."
"When I worked in telecommunications, the area I had the most expertise in is what I would call the timing of the world," said Loudon. "The timing of fiber optic cables, bandwidth, and the signals that come off the satellites--all of that is related to GPS."
Loudon believes that while most people understand the concept behind GPS, and the meaning of the acronym (Global Positioning System), few know how GPS devices work. In order to better educate others and discuss GPS technology at length, Loudon created a blog at http://www.idealgpssystems.com.
"I'd like to go in depth about how the GPS works, or even start with something similar, like how cell phones work," said Loudon. "With all the experiences I've had in telecommunications, I think I can give people an insider's look at how communication technologies function."
Loudon also notes that he's willing to do research for his customers. "I've compiled what I think are the best GPS devices and accessories on my website, but if there's something I don't know about, I'm willing to research it to help others."
While Loudon has a fascination with geocaching, one of the goals in launching his website and blog was to learn more about it from others. "Geocaching is an activity I haven't done enough, and I'd love to talk more about it with real geocachers," said Loudon.
