Southfield, MI (PRWEB) August 18, 2009
BSI Corporate Benefits announced today that the health insurance contract they negotiated on behalf of their client, Central Columbia school district in Bloomsburg, Pa., was featured on CNN's "The Situation Room."
"Central Columbia will save an estimated $715,000 during the current contract year compared to the surrounding area school districts that receive their heath insurance through a local trust," said Anthony DaRe, agency principal of BSI Corporate Benefits in Southfield. DaRe led the negotiations and has been an expert consultant to the school district since 2005.
A CNN news anchor displayed the Press Enterprise front page newspaper article that detailed the cost savings with the contract BSI negotiated on behalf of Central Columbia with Geisinger Health System. President Obama in his health care reform message has repeatedly named the Geisinger Health System as one of the top places to receive care in the United States. The CNN segment featured their innovative approaches to providing health care quality and value.
"Since our school district retained Anthony DaRe and his team at BSI four years ago to negotiate with health insurance companies on our behalf, we have saved over 2 million dollars versus what our surrounding area schools pay for similar benefits," said Harry Mathias, superintendent of Central Columbia School District. "Eliminating our spiraling rise in health care cost has led to our teachers receiving the largest pay increase in the area without our school board having to raise taxes one cent for 2009".
"We are in the business of educating children. Exploding health care costs were jeopardizing our ability to accomplish that task. Having Anthony DaRe in our corner means we no longer have to blindly accept outrageous increases and insurance companies are forced to deal with us in a fair manner," added Mathias.
BSI's philosophy toward solving escalating health care costs is to have employers and employees understand that they are all on the same team as the first order of business. BSI's uniform approach towards negotiating with competing health care companies consistently yields the best results.
