Buck Ramsey, director of Sarasota-based Hide-Away Storage's (http://www.hideawaystorage.com) Mobile Storage division, was one of three speakers on Aug. 12th, 2009, for a national webinar series entitled "Three Great Ways to Increase Mobile Business in a Recession." Ramsey spoke on Hide-Away Storage's unique relationship with The American Red Cross in Ft. Myers, Florida. The webinar was sponsored by MiniCo Publishing in Phoenix, AZ (http://www.minico.com).
Ramsey and Ronnie Sharpe, Hide-Away's Mobile and Moving Estimator, developed a program in cooperation with the Red Cross so that Hide-Away Storage keeps emergency supplies in Mobile Storage containers and delivers them within hours when the Red Cross responds to an emergency. Ramsey gave an example of how the system works by citing the instance where Hide-Away delivered emergency supplies during outbreak of wildfires near Ft. Myers.
Hide-Away Storage operates 10 traditional self-storage facilities and two Mobile Storage warehouses on the Southwest coast of Florida. The facilities are in St. Petersburg, Ellenton, Bradenton, Sarasota, Ft. Myers, and Naples, Florida. Hide-Away has approximately one million square feet of storage space, and is headquartered in Sarasota, Florida. The company was started 32 years ago in Bradenton by Steve Wilson, who remains the managing partner.
