Record 2009 license revenue confirms our solutions address real market needs and help organizations worldwide improve business efficiencies

Perceptive Software, creator of ImageNow enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, today announced fiscal 2009 (ending 30 June) revenue of $84.0 million, an increase of 22 percent over the prior year. According to a Gartner Dataquest Research report, Perceptive Software is the fastest-growing ECM vendor worldwide.

Industry analysts estimate the enterprise content management (ECM) market and the overall software market will remain flat in 2009. A survey of CIOs conducted by Morgan Stanley Research in June 2009 projects an average IT spending decline for calendar year 2009 of -2.8%. Based on CIO responses, the survey forecasts a software growth expectation of -0.8%. Despite these trends, Perceptive Software continues to report record growth and gain market share in both North America and Europe.

"Record 2009 license revenue confirms our solutions address real market needs and help organizations worldwide improve business efficiencies," said Perceptive Software President and CEO Scott Coons. "Particularly in tough economic times, companies purchase technologies that will have an immediate impact. ImageNow creates immediate efficiencies in business processes and delivers a rapid, demonstrable return on investment."

"In the coming year, Perceptive Software's healthy balance sheet and strong cash flow will allow us to continue to emphasize our investment in research and development, furthering our technical lead in several functional areas of ECM. We look forward to releasing a number of software products in new ECM categories in fiscal 2010," Coons said.

In addition to financial success, Perceptive Software was recently named a finalist in the Kansas City Business Journal's annual Best Places to Work awards, as one of only two companies to make the list in five of the last six years. Perceptive also finished in the top half of the publication's Top 150 Private Companies ranking, and was named one of the area's fastest-growing companies in Ingram's magazine's annual Corporate Report 100.
