MTV camera crews invaded Redwood City two weeks ago after discovering the extraordinary and proficient talent of the explosive new band, PICTURE ME BROKEN (http://www.picturemebroken.net). The local teens were nominated by MTV-just the latest organization to stand up and take notice- after a round of voting by fans in the MTV VMA's Best Break Out Band competition on OURSTAGE.COM. MTV sent the crews to the band's hometown to tape interviews and live performance footage that will begin airing Monday, August 17th.

A few 2-5 minute pieces will be shown on COMCAST ON-DEMAND in the Bay Area as well as the contest website (http://www.ourstage.com). Additionally, they will be run on the MTV2 website (http://www.mtv2.com) from which fans will be able to embed those clips in their own websites and blogs, MySpace, Facebook, and most other social networks, etc.

MTV2 will run shorter clips (30 and 15 second) randomly throughout the day in commercial breaks and between other videos. On average, every contiguous hour will present no less than three to four clips, particularly during the credits of ending shows.

Voting for the overall winner of the competition begins Monday, at: http://www.ourstage.com/go/mtv2bayarea

About PICTURE ME BROKEN:

As if reacting to the frightening state of the world they are growing up in, PICTURE ME BROKEN sings (and screams) rite-of-passage themes in the language of their peers… "The cure is in our blood/We're finding our way out here/We'll fall beneath the fear*", Layla taunts as the rhythm section perfectly builds tension in musical locked step before their rewarding release in the chorus of "Echoes of an Empire", one of the songs featured on the band's forth coming EP. Without a doubt, this is not a kid band!

While these may be four largely self-taught and completely self-motivated 16-year olds, it becomes very clear very quickly that LAYLA BROOKLYN ALLMAN, NICK LOIACONO, AUSTIN DUNN and CONNOR LUNG are simply teenagers by circumstance--for the music they play and the sentiment they offer is as adult as it comes.

With her natural charismatic beauty and the burning talent of her predecessors, LAYLA BROOKLYN ALLMAN may be the daughter of R&R Hall of Famer GREGG ALLMAN, but her take-no-prisoners determination and proficiency are all her own. "She's definitely her own girl…", remarks her famous father, "she's got it in her blood…" Nowhere is this more evident than in her perfect delivery of her self-styled vocals that add a dash of electric shock in choice lyrical passages.

Six foot six blonde blue eyed NICK LOIACANO, whose precision guitar work ranges from soulful power chords to the scorching shredding of the genre. "I was immediately impressed with Nick as a player; his style is very developed for someone still in his teens", says celebrated producer ANDREW "MUDROCK" MURDOCK, who usually works with substantially older hard rock bands like AVENGED SEVENFOLD. He just finished producing several of the tracks of Picture Me Broken's upcoming self-release.
