On August 6th the Arkansas News reported, “(Senator) Lincoln is scheduled to return to Arkansas Friday for the August congressional recess. She said she is looking forward to visiting with constituents but has no plans for a town hall meeting on health care.” A U.S. Senator ducking the concerns of her constituents is simply inexcusable.
As your Senator, I will never hide from the people. This Saturday I met with folks outside a Democrat fundraiser in Bella Vista, AR where Senator Lincoln delivered a speech on health-care. I was inspired in speaking with such impassioned people who desire honest and open debate in our nation. I am making a pledge to hold town-hall meetings across the state where I will listen to everyone with a question or concern. I will take your suggestions on how to improve health-care for all Americans and work towards formulating policies that Arkansans want for their families. As my town-hall schedule develops, the dates will be posted on my website at http://www.TomCox4Senate.com.
The silent majority is no longer silent. Americans have been awakened and their voices are rising. I hear your message and I will personally deliver it to the Nation on the floor of the United States Senate.
My Pledge to the People of Arkansas:
I will give you a public forum where your voices will be heard and I will always respect your First Amendment rights regardless of your opinions. I will go to Washington as your representative, a delegate of the people, your public servant. I will never forget where I came from or who I serve - We the people of the United States.
-In the words of Thomas Jefferson: “The People… are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.”
