Video of IGEL Universal Management Suite Demonstrates Desktop Virtualization Control and Cost Savings

We're honored to be recognized for our Universal Management Suite, yet another example of how we're making it easier and more affordable for companies to adopt, deploy and manage virtual desktops.

IGEL Technology, the world's third largest thin client vendor (2008 by revenue, IDC), today announced it's won the "Best Management" category in the Citrix Ready XenDesktop Challenge. Featured on CitrixTV (http://www.citrix.com/tv/), the challenge compared videos from thin client partners demonstrating various features of their solutions in conjunction with Citrix XenDesktop. Winners were determined by Citrix executives, along with the number of video views and ratings by the online community.

A Citrix Systems partner for more than 10 years, IGEL offers Citrix XenDesktop users an extraordinary user experience, including fast roll outs, easy remote management, bullet-proof security and the ability to deliver applications to any location. In the video, IGEL Sales Manager Andrew Chambers demonstrates how easy it is to use the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) to access a XenDesktop virtual desktop in less than 60 seconds. The intuitive UMS is a powerful software solution that allows administrators to remotely manage thin clients throughout their entire lifecycle, from automatically setting up profiles, to changing device settings, to re-imaging devices mid-life when new firmware becomes available.

"Our close business and development relationship with Citrix has resulted in a number of original solutions, including our XenDesktop Appliance Mode, which transforms an IGEL Universal Desktop into a Citrix XenDesktop appliance with the click of a mouse," said Erhard Behnke, US president at IGEL Technology Ltd. "We're honored to be recognized for our Universal Management Suite, yet another example of how we're making it easier and more affordable for companies to adopt, deploy and manage virtual desktops."
