CPAPtalk.com releases the results of the Tenth Product Challenge. The Fisher & Paykel Opus 360 tied with the ResMed Mirage Swift LT nasal pillow mask, 25 to 25.
For those treating sleep apnea with CPAP therapy, getting diagnosed is just the first step. Successful treatment depends on finding the right mask. CPAPtalk.com Product Challenges provide equipment to patients in return for their product evaluations. Their reviews are made public for both patients and care givers to access. The exchange of information and experience reduces the time and expense it takes to find the right equipment. Product Challenge 10 results are great news. Participants of the challenge rated an affordable mask the same quality as the industry top seller for best nasal pillow CPAP mask.
The products evaluated in Product Challenge 10 were chosen by a CPAPtalk.com community vote from among several other possible match ups. The new "crowdsourced" voting styling was effective as the Opus 360 versus Swift LT proved to be an exciting challenge.
Both masks were commended for their light-weight feel. However, some participants said the Swift LT felt bulkier after trying the Opus 360. The Opus 360 mask was praised for its innovative "360" design that allows sleepers to find comfort and an effective seal in any sleeping position.
Still, twenty-five out of the fifty participants chose to continue with their tried and true Swift LT nasal pillow mask. This mask has certainly brought restful sleep to thousands since it has been on the market. The Swift LT has the advantage of adjustable nasal pillows that allow users to angle them for a better seal.
Product Challenges help patients find the right equipment and promotes the development of improved products. The participants' comments are excellent. End users and manufacturers alike should read and benefit from this information. In them, superior and problematic features of both masks are revealed.
