Being a die-hard Laker fan, it was an honor to host my favorite team at their new favorite resort, Casa Dorada
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 19, 2009
Following the 2009 LA Lakers victory in June, MVP Kobe Bryant told his fans that he was heading to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Bryant wasn't the only Laker with that plan; the Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa hosted a Victory Party on Saturday August 15 with power forward Josh Powell, coach Brian Shaw, assistant general manager Ronnie Lester and other team personnel on hand celebrate their big win, Cabo-style.
Casa Dorada's general manager Victor Gomez, who is a huge Lakers fan, celebrated the team's championship in the resort's B Lounge, with over 400 people in attendance. Entertainment was provided by Cirque-style jugglers on stilts and a DJ, while Lakers highlights played on two big screens flanking the pool. It was co-hosted by Cabo Noche Magazine, the leading nightlife magazine of Cabo and Hautter.com. As the unofficial Lakers getaway spot in Cabo, Casa Dorada will play host to additional players and coaches in the weeks leading up to training camp, including Lamar Odom and new Laker Ron Artest.
"Being a die-hard Laker fan, it was an honor to host my favorite team at their new favorite resort, Casa Dorada," said General Manager Victor Gomez. "We are looking forward to hosting additional players and help them recharge before taking the team through another successful season."
While in Cabo, Shaw and Powell went deep sea fishing with Shaw's son B.J., and the trio returned a few hours later, appropriately, with some Dorada they caught in the Pacific. Executive Chef Fabian Rios of the hotel's acclaimed 12 Tribes Restaurant prepared the fresh catch for their evening feast.
