Business intelligence solution provider Millbrook Inc. helps Montana State Fund improve decision making.

Millbrook Incorporated, the leading provider of property and casualty (P&C) insurance business intelligence and data services, today announced that the Montana State Fund, provider of workers' compensation coverage to over 28,000 employers in the state of Montana, selected Millbrook to help the organization enhance its decision support capabilities to better support its ongoing business strategy. The worker's compensation provider has already successfully implemented Millbrook's enterprise data warehouse and is working to gain greater insight into its loss and claims operations in particular.

"We went through a long and arduous vendor selection process and decided to go with Millbrook because of its sophisticated data models and deep workers' compensation insurance expertise," said Al Parisian, CIO, Montana State Fund.

Montana State Fund sought an overall business intelligence solution that would provide a single, integrated view of its data to help make critical business decisions. The organization needed a way to empower its business users with tools that would drive fact-bases analysis of trends and anomalies related to pricing, policy retention and other operational activities. This functionality was not supported by Montana State Fund's existing business intelligence system.

"Montana State Fund told us it needed to make sound business decisions based on hard historical data and trends data rather than one-off anecdotal evidence," said Jack Plunkett, President, Millbrook. "As a result of implementing our business intelligence platform, the organization has the ability to base its business strategy on credible, factual data contained in the data warehouse. This is already helping them propel their business forward."

Parisian added, "Millbrook acted more as a partner than a vendor during this entire process. They took on the role of a contractor to bring in a team from Oracle to implement the business intelligence layer, and they worked diligently to transfer all necessary knowledge of the system to us so we would be able to self-maintain it moving forward. This entire project went extremely smoothly, and we couldn't be happier with the product, the implementation or Millbrook. In fact, we're now moving on to an additional project with Millbrook in the area of medical billing."
