Song Placements Artists Expand Presence in Film Projects

Rise in Indie film production creates more opportunities for Indie artists

Song Placements celebrated the summer movie season with a number of placements and movie deals. The deals further establish the company as the premier Hollywood group for independent artist development while furthering the careers of talented musicians on their roster.

Five artists represented by the company are featured in Triumphant Pictures latest release The Crypt. The Horror film by director Craig McMahon about a group of thieves trapped in long forgotten catacombs features artists Paul Finley, Chad Overman, Bobby Werner, Project Citizen, Nathan Morris and Wake Me Up on its soundtrack. The company also signed music by Friday Night Gunfight ("Just A Dream") and Tocayo ("Visions") which will appear in the Horror/Comedy Blood Moon Rising.

San Luis Obispo-based Rock outfit Nothing Ever Stays will see two of its hit songs, "The Burn" and "We Said Goodbye," in The Outside. The feature-length Drama follows the life of Ned Blakey as he pursues his dream of becoming a professional surfer. Another surf film, The Ripple Effect, features "Row Your Boat" and "Grandma's Hands," two hot tracks from a band that is quickly rising to fame: The Elevaters.

Song Placements also struck a deal with the GSN Network and Jetset Studios that secures online viral placement for a number of artists on their roster. GSN is an industry-leading, game content provider distributing competition programming through its 66-million subscriber cable television network and its casual and skill-based online games portal, Jetset Studios is an award-winning creator of online marketing campaigns founded in 1999 by Russell Scott and Patrick Young.
