Perceptive Software Announces the Latest Release of its Enterprise Content Management Technology, ImageNow 6.4

Perceptive Software, creator of ImageNow enterprise content management solutions, today announced the release of ImageNow 6.4. This release expands the breadth of Perceptive Software's ECM functionality and provides more solution depth for specific industries.

ImageNow 6.4 exemplifies Perceptive Software's game-changing approach to ECM technology, offering powerful, innovative, easy-to-administer features that are developed in collaboration with customers to ensure real world impact.

"A variety of new features and functionality were added in ImageNow 6.4, but collectively this release adds new core ECM functionality, extends that functionality further into the business processes that are critical to our customers, and makes it easier for them to administer ImageNow independently--leading to higher productivity and lower costs," said Perceptive Software president and CEO Scott Coons.

eForms securely bring non-ImageNow users into the workflow process.
ImageNow eForms fosters better communication with customers, suppliers and others outside the organization who are involved in the business process. eForms brings outside constituents, such as customers or suppliers, who are not licensed ImageNow users, directly into the organization's workflow. Customers post HTML-based electronic forms to external websites, intranets or portals, where customers, employees, suppliers, patients or students then complete the form and submit the data directly into ImageNow Workflow.

Perceptive Software higher education solution manager Mike Wessel believes the nearly 400 colleges and universities that use ImageNow will find eForms is a valuable addition to the technology.

"Our higher education customers are excited to use eForms to bring students directly into the process, making student enrollment, financial aid and other processes more efficient and more accurate," Wessel said. "The registrar's office can post a Perceptive eForm on a student website where students can then open, complete and submit forms directly into ImageNow Workflow. That saves valuable time for university staff and greatly enhances student service."

Laura Simcox, Perceptive Software solution manager for Human Resources, said the HR professionals she works with see many uses for eForms. "Think about the efficiencies created when HR forms such as applications, W-4 or custom company forms, can be posted to the company intranet, website or portal. Employees and applicants can then open, complete and submit forms directly into ImageNow Workflow, which routes them immediately to the appropriate registrar staff for processing. Authorized staff can review and route submitted forms through the appropriate process to ensure secure, timely completion," she said.

Enhanced Workflow Views allow employees to get right to the task at hand.
Easy to build and administer Workflow Views allow individual users or departments to get right to the work that is important to them, as users see the specific set of documents they need, in the order they need to address them.

This type of focus is particularly important in a healthcare setting, according to Kelli Rhodes, Perceptive Software solution manager for Healthcare. "If a patient chart is not complete, the hospital can't bill for that visit," Rhodes said. "To ensure completion, an HIM analyst must review the chart and coordinate with physicians to address any deficiencies in that chart. Using Enhanced Views, analysts can easily monitor the status of each deficiency for all the charts in their care -- without having to call the physician. And less time spent on the phone makes everyone in the hospital -- physicians, patients and HIM analysts -- happy."

Out of Office Routing and Alarms keep processes flowing even when employees are away.
Out of Office routing and alarms ensure the business process continues to flow smoothly even when employees are out of the office. Routing rules can be created easily by the customer's ImageNow administrator, automatically routing work to others when employees are away. Out of office alarms notify a supervisor that a workflow queue is unattended, so they can also directly reassign work in an employee's absence. In invoice processing, for instance, this automation helps ensure invoices are approved and paid promptly so early payment discounts are earned.

ImageNow Interact for Xerox brings documents directly into workflow with the touch of the MFD button.
ImageNow 6.4 extends the solution's capture points to top multi-function device (MFD) manufacturers HP and Xerox. New in ImageNow 6.4, Interact for Xerox allows a seamless integration with any EIP-enabled Xerox MFD to remove the limitations of paper from daily routines. Users simply scan a document into the MFD and it automatically enters workflow. With a touch of a button, ImageNow takes a document entered into the MFD and makes it accessible directly from the host application. This collaboration with top MFD manufacturers offers ImageNow users more capture point choices, allowing customers to capture documents at the point that works best in their unique process.

"More than half of the enhancements in ImageNow 6.4 were requested by ImageNow customers to meet a specific business need. This collaborative approach helps ensure Perceptive ECM technology is relevant in the real world and delivers immediate bottom-line impact," Coons added.
