Joseph J. Del Sordo, a resident of Dania Beach, Florida, has released the new novel Short Cut. It was published by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Del Sordo was born in Italy and came to the United States when he was nine years old. He served in the Air Force until 1945. When not writing or inventing, he enjoys being involved with the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He has been married for fifty-eight years to his wife, Grace, and has two children, Joseph Jr. and Michael.

In the book, Joe Kator is an ordinary man faced with an extraordinary mission. Beings on the planet Equal have taken a special interest in Earth. They love the atmosphere, the animals, the oxygen, and the flowing water. But they are displeased with how humans treat Earth, abusing the resources and running the planet into the ground. Sam is sent to Earth specifically to give Joe the mission of setting things straight. The stakes are high: Should Joe fail, Earth will destroy itself. Armed with a sophisticated bracelet and helicopter, Joe formulates a plan to save Earth. He must battle bureaucracy and criminals, repeat offenders, and out-of-control truck drivers.
