Chicagoan Artist Maureen Fagan unveils hand-crafted flower rings inspired by garden blooms

Maureen Fagan, local artist and owner of Simple Treasure, a hand-crafted jewelry online boutique that specializes in designs featuring intricate bead work and metal-smiting techniques, today announced that she will be showcasing several new creations at the Chicago Indie Collection show to be held at Oak Brook Shopping Center, August 22 - 23, 2009.

"I am an avid gardener and constantly inspired by nature. Lately my designs inspirations are coming from my own backyard literally," said Fagan. "My garden is having a spectacular year and I'm loving the elegant simplicity and delight of flowers so I decided to re-create the splendor by creating a series of rings that keep the beauty of summertime blooms alive as we move in Fall."

Fagan's Floral Ring collection features a series of hand-crafted, sterling silver "blooms." Each one created to look like a flower in her garden. Fagan will also featuring several new silver delicate loops and pearl-beaded collections that feature darker stones such has garnets and smokey topaz.

"The richness of garnets and the dark topaz look great against most skin tones and provide a striking contrast for any causal or evening outfit. Their colors are subtle yet, make a statement. Plus they are affordable, which is a nice bonus for anyone on a budget that is looking for a little luxury," said Fagan.

Fagan is a repeat exhibitor at the Chicago Indie Collection and recently exhibited for the first time at the Chicago Gold Coast Art Fair. To see recent reviews of her pieces please click here.
