A new mobile broadband search tool, which takes into account users' individual internet usage requirements, was announced today by the specialist mobile broadband comparison website,

The Perfect Match Search Tool allows users to fill in their typical internet uses, and then calculates their data usage requirements based on the information supplied. The tool then searches an extensive database of mobile broadband offers from the major providers to find the best offers for the needs of the individual user.

Whilst this type of usage calculation tool is already used on the websites of several mobile broadband providers, this is the first time that the concept has been combined with an independent comparison feature, allowing users to compare the offers from all of the major networks.

"When we researched the websites that offer independent comparison services for mobile broadband shoppers, we found that the vast majority had a couple of important shortcomings," said Andy Gott, one of the website's founders. "They're too broad (many cater for broadband rather than specifically for mobile broadband); they offer no help for those who don't already know how much data they're going to use each month (this is the case for the majority of users)."

The new search tool also provides users with links to the online coverage checking tools for each of the major providers, with an option to search through the offers from only those providers which cover the user's area.

The search results are taken from a proprietary database of mobile broadband offers, created, maintained and updated by, which contains offers from Vodafone, 3, O2, Orange and T-Mobile. Users can reorder their results according to price, download limits, contract length or maximum network speeds.

"Our ethos for the site is simple: Honest, informative and useful," said Andy. "From the outset we decided that the main goal for the site wouldn't be about selling mobile broadband, but about helping people make the right decision - even if that means that mobile broadband isn't for them. This new search tool is a part of that overall vision."
