In less than 2 years, the San Francisco based bridesmaid-exclusive boutique, Bella Bridesmaid, has grown to include 34 franchise stores throughout the country. In October 2006, Bridget Brown, owner and founder of the boutique offering “a collection for the modern bridesmaid” realized her bridal business model could offer small business owners throughout the country a chance to be successful running their own divisions of the popular store.

As a female entrepreneur herself, Bridget Brown created Bella Bridesmaid in May 2000 in response to an overwhelming need for stylish, wearable and modern bridesmaid dresses in the Bay Area. The quaint and inviting boutique offers a refreshing departure from the usual bridesmaid experience: fresh, sassy and chic designer dresses in an intimate, upscale and approachable setting. Appreciating the need to find quality bridesmaid selections, Bella Bridesmaid provides each bride with personalized attention in a one-on-one environment.

Bella Bridesmaid has enjoyed great success due to its unique dresses, cozy boutiques and knowledgeable, friendly bridal experts. The boutique was so well received by Bay Area brides that Bella Bridesmaid became a franchise in October of 2006 providing brides across the United States with a fresh bridesmaid dress alternative.

“By offering the opportunity to own a part of Bella Bridesmaid, I’m hoping to empower other women like myself who are looking to open their own business,” said Bridget Brown. “However with the benefit of a franchise system, these young entrepreneurs have the training, the infrastructure and the proven business model to run a successful business – one dedicated to giving brides a full range of options for their wedding attendants.”

“Having worked with the Bella Bridesmaid brand for over three years, I knew I wanted to someday own my own boutique,” said Mandi Jackson, first franchise owner of the Bella Bridesmaid in Atlanta. “When Bridget decided to franchise the concept – I was the first in line and have since opened my second store in Charleston.”

Bella Bridesmaid has earned a reputation of success by offering a full range of chic, modern bridesmaid dresses and accessories with the brand names brides have come to trust and respect. Only the top bridesmaid dress designers are found at Bella Bridesmaid with collections by Jenny Yoo, Simple Silhouettes, Kathlin Argiro, Priscilla of Boston, Melissa Sweet, Vera Wang and Coren Moore. Bella Bridesmaid also represents 4 exclusive designers: LulaKate Bridal, Alix & Kelly, Queue and Two Birds Bridesmaid.

In addition, Bella Bridesmaid offers fun and innovative accessories that make great bridesmaid gifts—a monogrammed bag, satin-edged pashminas and customizable jewelry—attending to every fine detail that finishes off the elegant look of a bridesmaid dress.

Bella Bridesmaid boutiques are conveniently located in stylish shopping districts set in serene and warm environments. In San Francisco, Bridget Brown works closely with her husband, Nick Brown, a photojournalistic wedding photographer which enables her to be on the cutting edge of wedding trends and bridal needs.
