White Lake, MI (PRWEB) August 25, 2009
Emerald Tree Care LLC announced today that they were awarded the Emerald Ash Borer treatment contract for city ash trees in Fort Wayne, Ind.
"We have been successfully treating ash trees for EAB since 2002 in five states," said Wayne White, owner of Emerald Tree Care and an International Society of Arboriculture board certified master arborist. "Fort Wayne is saving most of the Ash trees that grace their community by treating instead of cutting them down." As an ISA board certified master arborist, White has advanced knowledge and training in the science and practices of professional tree care.
The Fort Wayne contract was for treatment during the spring of city ash trees measuring a minimum of 18 inches in diameter for a total of 35,263 diameter inches. "Treatment for trees should begin when EAB is first detected for the best chance of success," said White. Studies of trees that have been treated in southeastern Michigan since 2001 have shown no evidence of EAB activity or damage, even with 'insect pressure' evidenced by swarming of EAB adults within 50 feet of trees (Michigan State University study reported in Landsculptor magazine June 2008).
Emerald Tree Care's successful treatment in places such as the Oakland County International Airport in Waterford, Michigan is included in the "History and Control of the Emerald Ash Borer" video available at http://www.treeresearch.org. They also have been featured on a Fox TV news affiliate and PBS-TV EAB special and in several major daily newspapers and trade magazines. White has spoken to industry trade groups, consumer shows and homeowners about EAB over the past few years.
Emerald Tree Care LLC provides tree care services in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin for home owners, associations, commercial property owners and municipalities.
