With 18 branches and over 200 distribution outlets, Steel-Line is an Australian-owned-and-operated company with global representation in the UK and Saudi Arabia.

Operating for over 28 years, Steel-Line has developed a reputation as the market leader in design, manufacturing, distribution and installation of garage doors. Acquired by Crescent Capital in 2007, the company now has over 500 employees nationally.

Steel-Line is the second-largest garage door manufacturer in Australia and is looking to aggressively market itself nationally in 2009. Its manufacturing capability is now spread across four states.

Offering an extensive range of steel, aluminium and timber garage doors, automatic doors and gate operators, the company has over the last decade managed to increase operations and further extend its market share.

Steel-Line's belief is that innovation is at the core of its success. An example offered to the Australian market by Steel-Line is the 'finger-proof' sectional door, which provides added safety for homeowners. Another is special custom-made doors that allow customers to incorporate their own design and colours, which an experienced technician will happily install for them in just minutes. And not forgetting Steel-Line's garage doors and operators, which are always offered at a competitive price.

The company's main concern is the satisfaction of its customers. It aims to provide a high-quality product and service, and expects all company stakeholders to do the same. Brenda Grundy, Senior Purchasing Manager at Steel-Line, believes that successful production and successful supply-chain management go hand in hand. "We must have a strong relationship with our suppliers, as we need flexibility, reliability and support from them in relation to our production from time to time," she says. "It leaves less to chance and in turn make us a more reliable provider to our customers."
