With over 40 years experience, the Luxottica Group provides customers with a variety of the world's most popular premium and luxury eyewear brands and retail businesses.
Luxottica ,'Lux' meaning illumination in the old units of light measurement intensity and 'ottica' meaning eyecare in Italian, is represented on all five continents within over 130 countries. With over 65,000 employees world-wide operating nearly 5,700 sun and optical stores, the company's distribution network reaches all of the world's key markets in both retail and wholesale.
The Group has a massive portfolio which includes retail brands such as Sunglass Hut, Laubman & Pank, Budget Eyewear and the largest optical retailer in the Southern Hemisphere, OPSM. Further to this, Luxottica boasts a range of high quality product from licensed brands such as Ray-Ban, Blvgari, Burberry, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Prada and more.
Within the Australasian region, the expansion of the Luxottica family is a result of a number of calculated acquisitions. Managed from the Head Office in North Ryde, and supported by offices in Auckland, Cape Town, Hong Kong and Singapore, this demographic has close to 800 stores in their retail network operating across the OPSM, Laubman & Pank, Budget Eyewear, Bright Eyes Sunglasses and Sunglass Hut retail brands.
The wholesale arm of the Group in Australia, Luxottica Australia, has a customer base of over 5000 clients including corporate clients such as Myer and David Jones, Optometrists and sunglass boutiques. These clients are able to purchase, from Luxottica Australia, a product range imported directly from company facilities in Italy. Orders are placed weekly and are dispatched via the Sydney based distribution centre.
