Dynasys is 1st emission reduction technology introduced by Hodyon

Hodyon, a recognized leader of climate control systems since 1986, launched its first anti-idling truck auxiliary power unit, 'Dynasys,' at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Texas.

Dynasys is a stand-alone, diesel-fueled auxiliary power system specifically designed for the heavy-duty truck market. Dynasys provides engine preheat for easy cold weather starting, electric heating and hermetic air conditioning for the sleeper, and 120V AC household power for appliances such as TV, microwave or any other device the driver may require.

Dynasys engineers and product managers spent years in development and testing to provide truck drivers and fleet operators with the best combination of product design and features. The result is a fully functional unit that occupies less than 20 inches of frame space, has service intervals that match those of the truck system, provides easy-to-access maintenance items and unparalleled installation times (thus limits truck down time for the operator). The Dynasys APU can also be equipped with a shore power option allowing it to plug into a 120 V power supply.

"We are extremely pleased to add Dynasys to our existing product offering at Hodyon. Dynasys will provide our customers outstanding functionality in a compact package and at a reasonable price," said David Hancock, Chief Executive Officer for Hodyon. "We are confident Dynasys provides an excellent option for customers who want to reduce fuel and truck-maintenance costs. Also, Dynasys will allow customers to comply with anti-idling regulations."

Tough legislation and regulations throughout cities and states across North America indicate a reduction in truck idling is an important issue. Over 1 billion gallons of diesel fuel are consumed in the US alone due to engine idling. This translates into annual emissions of approximately 11 million tons of carbon dioxide, 200,000 tons of oxides of nitrogen, and 5,000 tons of particulate matter into our environment. The Dynasys APU will reduce these environmentally harmful emissions by eliminating the need for truck engine idling while decreasing fuel costs to the customer.
