Department of Homeland Security and Ice-Qube ask Americans to ready for emergency, really!

September is National Preparedness Month. Ice-Qube Preparedness Solutions has joined with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a Coalition Member to help educate and empower Americans to be ready for and respond to emergencies, including natural and man made disasters.

As a Coalition Member Ice-Qube will promote National Preparedness Month and support the national effort with events, materials and website giveaways all designed to motivate and inspire citizen preparedness. A series of special events sponsored by Ice-Qube and hosted by several of their leading retailers are planned in New York (C.O. Bigelow 9/09), Los Angeles (Fred Segal 9/12), Anchorage (Alaska Mill & Feed 9/26) and Boston (Colonial Drug 9/26).    These events will highlight the importance of emergency preparedness and promote individual involvement, such as making an emergency plan, adding an ICE contact to your phone and having supplies on hand in case of an emergency.

Ice-qube.com will be offering free emergency planners for families, individuals, baby and pet as well as free annual reminders to help people remember to check on their emergency supplies and a free monthly newsletter with tips and news about emergency preparedness. Online visitors can access all of these free materials at the Ice-Qube Web site, http://www.ice-qube.com.

"The Department of Homeland Security proclaimed September as National Preparedness Month because every citizen has the responsibility to prepare themselves and their family in case of emergency.," said Leslie Fastenberg, president of Ice-Qube. "We are delighted to find our greatest partner in the US Government and support this vital national movement. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for people to be prepared for any kind of emergency."

Ice-Qubes are a collection of emergency preparedness gift kits inspired by the groundswell term ICE for In Case of Emergency. Ice-Qube's innovative approach to emergency preparedness takes the anxiety out of preparing for emergencies by organizing substantial supplies for an emergency and refashioning the package with a modern design in a signature cube. All Ice-Qube kits contain quality products for a variety of emergency situations. Included in 9 different Ice-Qube models are products for rescue, survival, first aid, hygiene and comfort such as face shields, lighting, water containers, radio, cell phone chargers and first aid. Ice-Qubes are available at leading retailers around the country and at ice-qube.com for families, individuals, baby and pets.

This September 2009, the sixth annual National Preparedness Month will focus on changing perceptions about what real emergency preparedness is and helping Americans to be truly Ready.

The Department of Homeland Security through its Ready.gov public service campaign will launch a massive effort throughout the month to heighten awareness of the importance of being prepared for emergencies. Ice-Qube hopes to be a key player in promoting and supporting this important national effort.

During National Preparedness Month, Ice-Qube urges everyone to take the time to ready themselves and their loved ones by creating an emergency plan, adding an ICE contact in everyone's phone and gathering proper supplies to ready your family and home in case of emergency.
