Teams up with Flip to bring Carnival to the World

Video messaging service sets up a dedicated website, hosting blogs from Levi Roots, St John's Ambulance and Local Schools participating in the event.

Free, web-based, private video messaging service, WinkBall, has today announced a partnership with Flip Video cameras and CMC Matrix Sound System to bring the Notting Hill Carnival to the world through a series of video blogs hosted on a specially dedicated microsite WinkBall Notting Hill Carnival (

In the run up to -- and during -- the two day event, which will run from 30th to 31st August, WinkBall will be hosting a number of video blogs created by Carnival participants -- who will be able to share with the world what Carnival means to them. Contributors to the scheme range from members of The St John's Ambulance, who provide medical assistance every year, Dragons Den entrepreneur and local celebrity Levi Roots, whose Reggae Reggae Sauce was made famous at The Notting Hill Carnival, and Fox Primary School, located in the Notting Hill area. As part of its support for the event, WinkBall will be sponsoring the CMC Matrix Sound System - and in the run up to the event will feature blogs from artists who will be performing over the weekend.

In addition WinkBall and Flip Video will be filming throughout Carnival at ground level providing live and up-to-date blog coverage of events. As part of the partnership all messages that are sent through during the event will be supported by a network of five-second i-dent advertisements designed by Flip, which are played at the end of each video. This unique form of advertising not only ensures that all advertisements will be seen, but also provides an unpolluted visual experience for the viewer.
