This cookbook provides the chance for football fans across the nation to spice up their tailgate parties while helping out fellow football fans and families who have fallen on hard times.

Football fans can score BIG with great tailgating ideas in http:Recipes from the Heart, a comprehensive 336-page cookbook created by U.S. Foodservice employees that also will benefit local food pantries and help feed needy kids and their families. Recipes from the Heart is filled with appetizers and hearty dishes that are perfect for everybody's favorite pre-game tailgating party.

"Tailgating is an important part of the football season, and nothing's more important to a good tailgate party than the grill," said Chef Mark Eggerding, of U.S. Foodservice, one of the nation's largest foodservice distributors. "Recipes from the Heart is a perfect addition to any tailgate party with many recipes that can be prepared at home before the game or grilled outside the stadium."

The 386 recipes included in the book range from appetizers to desserts and many delectable dishes ideal for the football season including The Duke's Texas Chili, Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Peanut Sauce, Bahama Chicken, and many other recipes.

The cookbook is part of U.S. Foodservice's Operation Stem-ulus, a campaign that was launched in mid-July and will run through October 15 to raise money for Feeding America (formerly America's Second Harvest), the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Chef Eggerding said 100 percent of the proceeds from Recipes from the Heart will be given to the non-profit organization, which also has designated September as National Hunger Awareness Month.

"The money raised will provide fresh fruits and vegetables to local food pantries and help feed children and families across America," Eggerding said. "This cookbook provides the chance for football fans across the nation to spice up their tailgate parties while helping out fellow football fans and families who have fallen on hard times."

Recipes from the Heart can be purchased for a special price of $14.99 plus shipping through October 15. After that date, the price returns to its normal price of $24.99 plus postage.

Eggerding urged fans to visit U.S. Foodservice's http://www.fullplatesfulllives.com/cook.html website to review and order the cookbook. It also can be ordered by dialing 1-800-328-9800, between 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
