'Recipes from the Heart' Provides Great Tailgate Party Recipes for Football Season and a Chance to Help Needy Fans and Families

All proceeds from "Recipes from the Heart" cookbook will help feed needy children, families

This cookbook provides the chance for football fans across the nation to spice up their tailgate parties while helping out fellow football fans and families who have fallen on hard times.

"Tailgating is an important part of the football season, and nothing's more important to a good tailgate party than the grill," said Chef Mark Eggerding, of U.S. Foodservice, one of the nation's largest foodservice distributors. The cookbook is part of U.S. Foodservice's Operation Stem-ulus, a campaign that was launched in mid-July and will run through October 15 to raise money for Feeding America (formerly America's Second Harvest), the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Chef Eggerding said 100 percent of the proceeds from Recipes from the Heart will be given to the non-profit organization, which also has designated September as National Hunger Awareness Month.

"The money raised will provide fresh fruits and vegetables to local food pantries and help feed children and families across America," Eggerding said. "This cookbook provides the chance for football fans across the nation to spice up their tailgate parties while helping out fellow football fans and families who have fallen on hard times."

Recipes from the Heart can be purchased for a special price of $14.99 plus shipping through October 15. After that date, the price returns to its normal price of $24.99 plus postage.
