Procurement Outsourcing's Fast ROI Intensifies Post-recession Demand, Reports Black Book Research

As companies begin to emerge from survival mode into economic recovery, 92% polled executives agree that rapid return-on-investment outsourcing will be the prioritized initiative according to the 2009 Black Book survey of eight hundred global industry users. Procurement outsourcing, in particular, a niche service line focusing on spend management and purchasing processes, is catapulting ahead in BPO growth based largely on a fast ROI and highly satisfied clients.

The Black Book of Outsourcing, a Datamonitor company, announces the results of Procurement Outsourcing users worldwide in the annual poll of customer satisfaction and client experience to identify the top twenty service providers of the purchasing and spend management industry.

Key Findings include:

  • Indian outsourcers commanded the highest satisfaction levels of all global procurement outsourcing suppliers for a second consecutive year;
  • Procurement outsourcing ranks among the fastest shifting service lines to offshore providers with over 77% of large scale arrangements and 48% of midmarket and small cap deals transitioning to India vendors;
  • Post-recession outsourcing is making a niche-by-niche comeback lead by Procurement BPO and similar quick ROI initiatives.

Genpact captured the #1 ranking among all global enterprise-wide Procurement Outsourcing Vendors for 2009's poll. Infosys, Accenture, ICG Commerce, IBM Global, Ariba, Oracle BPO, Corbus, Capgemini and D & B Supply Chain Solutions completed the top ten client experience ranked vendors respectively.

Over 800,000 individuals are invited to participate annually in Black Book's outsourcing user survyes including the top sourcing officers of the Fortune 2000, Inc 500, institutional members and officers of various professional and industry member organizations, media partners" subscribers and previously validated survey participants each March through May. Non-invitation receiving participants must complete a verifiable profile. Over 26,000 global outsourcing users were validated in the 2009 ranking process.
