We understand--and admire--the creative impulse behind the brides who want to get hands-on with the design process, but as perfectionists, we just had to think of a way to ensure a level of quality that we'd be proud of. No jagged edges or micro-perf here!

DIY brides can put down their Exacto knives and step away from the downloaded do-it-yourself fan wedding program templates: Custom Programs has just unveiled Perfect Petals, the only pre-perforated DIY petal fan wedding program kit currently available.
"Our brides have loved the petal fan since we first offered it in 2003, but lately we've been hearing that it's too expensive--a sign of the times for sure. To ease the burden, we started offering fans with fewer petals as an option (both four and three petals remain an option), but ultimately we felt that a DIY alternative was the perfect way to not only satisfy our brides' thriftiness, but their creativity as well," explains Custom Programs' owner, Adrienne Coerper of the decision.
At $1.50 per DIY fan, versus $3.50 per customized fan, the savings are substantial--over 40 percent. Fifty 5-page fan petal programs cost $75. Brides can select either white or ecru 80# card stock for their main program pages, and from over 45 non-printable accent page color options (65# to 80# card stock, depending on selection). Brides can also add their own personal touches with font choice and binding selections, be that a satin cord with vintage findings, a Swarovski crystal stud, or a simple brass fastener (not included).
While templates have been available for some time, the precision necessary for cutting out the "petals" freehand, not to mention the tedium of said task, was Coerper's, inspiration for the pre-perforated petals in the kit.
"We understand--and admire--the creative impulse behind the brides who want to get hands-on with the design process, but as perfectionists, we just had to think of a way to ensure a level of quality that we'd be proud of. No jagged edges or micro-perf here!" Coerper assures.
For those interested in a trial run, Custom Programs offers an $8 sample that comes with 5 pre-perforated sheets (10 petals) in their standard 80# white cardstock.
