Dr. Kevin Stone to be interviewed on Creating Your Healthy Life Web Cast, Thursday September 10 with Pamela Heyen

Dr. Kevin Stone, one of the foremost orthopedic surgeons in the country, will be a guest on VoiceAmerica.com's Creating Your Healthy Life web cast on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 8 AM Pacific, 10 AM Central, 11 AM Eastern.

Dr. Stone, founder of The Stone Clinic in San Francisco, specializes in sports medicine with a special interest in knee and shoulder injuries. He's also an expert on the prevention and treatment of Arthritis.

Dr. Stone will join host Pamela Heyen to discuss the newest alternatives to knee replacement surgery - biologic knee repair and collagen meniscus implants.

Dr. Stone is a pioneer of biologic knee repair - not replacement - using human tissue grafts instead of metal and plastic devices to relieve the pain of worn out joints. This less radical and more natural solution focuses on cartilage and ligament repair and regeneration instead of inserting an artificial knee into the body.

Dr. Stone will also discuss collagen meniscus implant, a new procedure that literally allows meniscus cartilage in the knee to re-grow.

Until now, doctors have only been able to remove, suture repair or replace the whole meniscus with cadaver tissue. There was no method of rebuilding or regenerating missing and torn segments. Surgeons normally remove damaged tissue leaving the knee exposed to wear and tear arthritis. The new medical procedure, permits segmental rebuilding of portions damaged or missing meniscus cartilage, the fibrous shock absorber of the knee.
