Afrikdecor is celebrating its official opening this September 8th, 2009 by presenting West African items of taste and distinction. Afrikdecor's products originate from the West African countries of Ivory Coast, Senegal, Mali and Ghana. Despite their geographic proximity, the wide diversity of handicrafts made in these select countries and made available through Afrikdecor will surely add color and culture to every room in a North American home.
Afrikdecor's West African paintings include works from Senegalese artists such as Kre M'baye and Mbida. Kre M'baye is well known for his knife painting technique and Mbida for his glass paintings. The rhythms of daily African life vividly come alive in the drawings of these talented artists.
For the living room, Afrikdecor maintains a huge selection of decorative cushions, throws, African masks, statuettes, bronze sculpture, paintings and decorative dolls. For the dining room people can select from tablecloths and napkin sets, napkin rings, table runners, placemats, and wine glasses.
Every home decor product displayed on the website uniquely reflects the incredible wealth of African culture. Africa is in fact comprised of 53 countries, each home to a kaleidoscope of cultures and ethnicities. Generations of crafts persons have passed down the creative and technical skills used to create beautiful artistic objects such as masks, paintings, and woodcarvings. Now Afrikdecor brings them together and makes them available to discerning shoppers worldwide.
Founded in 2009, Afrikdecor promotes African art through home decor accessories and soft furnishings.
