Rob has deep and wide knowledge of every level of the business, but even more important to us is his vision
Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 2, 2009
Rob Hallett, President of International Touring for AEG Live since 2005, has worked in almost every aspect of the music business during his 30-year career. In his five years at AEG Live, Hallett's tours have dominated the live music scene in Europe.
He was instrumental in developing the Michael Jackson comeback tour in London's O2 Arena and was finalizing details for those 50 sold-out shows at the time of the singer's death last month.
Hallett oversaw last year's Bon Jovi tour, the second highest grossing concert tour in the world that year, and also managed Prince's record breaking 21 sold-out shows in London. Other artists he has recently toured include Beyonce, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Usher and Mary J Blige. In addition to being a promoter, Hallett has also been an artist's agent, helping build the careers of such acts as Duran Duran, Adam and the Ants and UB40.
Hallett sees part of his challenge at AEG Live as transforming the events and promotions business, a model, he says, that has remained virtually unchanged since the 1960s. "The live music industry has not kept up with other forms of entertainment in terms of looking after our customers," he said. "We're looking to transform that."
In that regard, he's a perfect fit for FameCast, which is looking to transform the way consumers and brands interact through digital media and branded entertainment.
"Rob has deep and wide knowledge of every level of the business, but even more important to us is his vision," said FameCast CEO Kent Savage. "He shares our belief that we can enhance fans' musical experience and include brand partners in the process in a way that consumers don't just accept but embrace."
Founded in 2006 as an online music talent competition allowing independent artists to gain national exposure, FameCast quickly became recognized as an innovator in identifying up and coming talent in a number of music styles and creating a highly interactive experience between musicians and music fans.
Merely reaching customers is no longer enough. For brands to be successful, especially with a younger demographic, they have to create opportunities for consumers to engage and interact, to provide content they value and, most important, to allow consumers to have some control - to be more than passive participants.
FameCast provides that. They have developed a way for fans to support up-and-coming musicians and to be part of a highly interactive process. At the same time, their programs offer the opportunity for consumers and brands to connect and bond in a relevant, entertaining, mutually beneficial way.
Recently FameCast has expanded their reach to include international markets through a joint partnership with OCESA, Latin America's largest producer of music, sports and entertainment events. Together they created Amplifica, an online venue to identify rising Latino music stars that taps into that region's vibrant music scene and enormous, loyal fan base. Hallett's experience and vision will be invaluable as FameCast looks to recreate that success in the European markets.
FameCast has created successful experiences for the Samsung at&t Summer Krush Tour, 2009 Van Warped Tour, Guitar Centers' On-Stage competition with Mötley Crüe, John Mayer's Mayercraft and Fender Guitars' Road Worn™ competition. Not limited to music, they also power the JOE's Next Model competition for JOE's JEANS and an online tribute contest in conjunction with the DVD release of Notorious from Fox Home Entertainment. Western Union and PacSun have recently signed on with programs to be announced soon.
