Mountain View, CA (PRWEB) September 2, 2009
Pixazza, Inc., an Internet service that turns static images into engaging content while generating incremental income for web publishers, announced that Danny Shader has joined its Board of Directors. A Silicon Valley veteran, Mr. Shader created and sold two companies - Accept.com to Amazon.com and Good Technology to Motorola, Inc. This Board of Directors role reunites him with his former management colleagues from Netscape Communications Inc.
"We are thrilled to welcome Danny to the Pixazza board and look forward to working closely with him as the company grows," said Bob Lisbonne, chief executive officer of Pixazza. "He brings more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry as an entrepreneur and CEO. As a former Netscape colleague, I expect Danny's strategic perspective and results-driven operating expertise to serve Pixazza well as we pursue the opportunities ahead."
"I am excited to be a part of Pixazza, whose service monetizes images in the same way that Google's AdSense monetizes web content," said Danny Shader. "Pixazza's innovative platform leverages its team's deep experience with crowdsourcing and massive-scale web systems. I look forward to working with the Pixazza team as they continue to deliver significant new profit streams for publishers and online merchants."
Currently, Mr. Shader is the CEO of Kwedit, Inc, a new, but unannounced start-up. Previously he served as chief executive officer of Jasper Wireless, a global mobile-to-mobile (M2M) mobile operator. From 2000-2007 he served as chief executive officer and president of Good Technology, Inc., which created the standards-based corporate wireless messaging market. When Good was acquired by Motorola in 2008, he joined the company as corporate vice president. Prior to Good, Mr. Shader served as a vice president and general manager at Amazon.com, a role he accepted following the acquisition of Accept.com, an internet payments provider he co-founded and lead as chief executive officer. Early in his career Mr. Shader served as vice president of partner and developer relations at Netscape Communications Corporation, working closely with the founders and engineers who make up Pixazza's team. In addition to corporate management roles, he was twice as an entrepreneur-in-residence with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Benchmark Capital.
