Reston, VA (PRWEB) September 15, 2009
Infonic announces Enterprise License Agreement with the United States Marine Corps for Geo-Replication technology.
Infonic Geo-Replicator enables low-bandwidth data replication between file shares and SharePoint servers as well as replication of web applications to laptops. This solution helps remote and mobile troops overcome collaboration challenges they face from limited network connections. Challenges such as low bandwidth, high latency, frequent loss of data connections and large data file transfers are resolved for end user because Geo-Replicator efficiently moves the data to their servers and laptops in the background while they continue to work from their local area network or laptop.
The USMC ELA will enable the USMC to deploy over 250 Infonic servers and over 5500 laptops worldwide. This will enable global collaboration between all servers and laptops as well as users will have guaranteed access to data, even when offline. The ELA also includes consulting, training, and three years of maintenance and support. Two additional option years are available to the USMC. Geo-Replicator can be use to enable replication with TCWS, MECITS, Marines.mil, Urgent UNS and other USMC Programs. TCWS has already deployed Infonic Geo-Replicator to the Marine Expeditionary Forces.
Geo-Replicator is powered by the Infonic "Epsilon" replication engine. The Epsilon engine dramatically reduces the amount of data replicated between servers, customers frequently experience up to 95% reduction in the amount of data replicated. Customers, who pay for satellite time by the minute, experience a dramatic reduction in satellite cost. The patented Epsilon technology is exclusive to Infonic Geo-Replicator.
"For military organizations, the speed of access to information is vital to the success of their mission. They need a solution that optimizes inefficient networks and delivers reliable access to their central data 24/7. Infonic Geo-Replicator meets the US Marines requirements," comments Lawrence Poynter, Managing Director of Infonic Geo-Replicator.
This new enterprise agreement with the USMC demonstrates that Infonic remains market leader in the provision of data replication technology to defense organizations.
