Longmont, CO (PRWEB) September 1, 2009
Kozio®, Inc. (http://www.kozio.com), the leading provider of embedded in-system diagnostics and functional test software, today announced support for the Texas Instruments (TI) OMAPTM 3 application processor family, targeted by TI at Smartphone and Mobile Internet Device (MID) markets.
Kozio provides a kDiagnostics® Design Suite which contains a 'test and diagnostics executive', running on the target OMAP processor system hardware, and executing test methods and suites under user control. Kozio delivers test methods and suites, personalized to a specific board design, that exhaustively verify all CPUs, memories, peripherals, storage devices, connections, displays, and audio channels. These standard methods and suites provide both deep and broad test functionality, delivering the highest level of test coverage within minutes of system power on. Users can add new test routines interactively or by using Kozio's API to write new test routines in a high-level language.
Kozio's kDiagnostics Design Suite supports the OMAP34x and OMAP35x processor families, delivering out-of-the-box, a high-integrity validation suite for comprehensive at-speed functional testing, debug and diagnostics, to mobile device OEMs and other designers building products on the OMAP 3 platform. Kozio will continue to support the OMAP platform as TI releases future 45nm OMAP 3 products.
Already proven on over 130 boards designs, engineers using kDiagnostics experience faster and more predictable design validation, with fewer "validation escapes" causing latent issues that slow design productivity and require expensive and time-consuming corrective action. In addition, the early availability of stable hardware speeds integration and verification of application software, and frees software engineers to work on product features and functions, rather than writing, debugging, documenting and supporting custom test code.
The highly-integrated OMAP 3 applications processors are high performance, low power solutions that deliver advanced multimedia, imaging and general purpose processing capabilities to a range of portable devices. Designers who deploy kDiagnostics Design Suite reduce schedule, cost and risk, by finding and fixing system design defects early.
In addition, the Kozio solution is ready for production test, where these same comprehensive functional test capabilities, coupled with the lowest per-board touch-time, serialization and in-system programming, serve to smoothly automate end-of-line testing. For manufacturers who wish to extend the strengths of such comprehensive test to in-field use, to support field diagnostics and service, Kozio also offers as part of its solution a Power-On Self-Test option, permitting system validation each and every time the system powers on in the field.
The Kozio solution of comprehensive in-system test and diagnostics has been engineered to assist users in delivering the highest levels of quality and reliability, while reducing schedule and risk. Supporting the OMAP 3 processor family extends these benefits to the rapidly-growing, technically-demanding market for Smartphones, MIDs and other portable products.
Price and Availability
Kozio's kDiagnostics Design Suite with OMAP 3 processor support is available this September. The price for the royalty-free kDiagnostics Design Suite, fully personalized to run on customer's custom board, starts at $19,950.
