The Crowne Plaza Fallsview welcomed delegates from around the globe as the Leprosy Mission of Canada held their bi-annual conference in Niagara Falls in June. The International conference brings awareness to the disease which to this day continues to grip a portion of the world with a child diagnosed with the disease every 20 minutes, and 1,100 new cases being detected every day. The conference also gives delegates an opportunity to learn from each other, and share experiences.
Niagara Falls was selected to host the week-long event by the Canadian office of the mission thanks in part to beautiful scenery, proximity to international airports, and outstanding facilities offered at the hotel. The conference was deemed a success due in part to outstanding hospitality delivered by the hotel, and conference service teams at the Crowne Plaza. It was with esteemed honour that hotel staff accepted a touching portrait and plaque from the Mission in gratitude that features a man who was left blind and disfigured by the disease but who continues to inspire his community. The image is now proudly displayed in the hotel's business centre as a constant reminder of the teamwork, dedication and to inspire all who see it.
The Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls-Fallsview is situated directly across from Niagara Falls in the centre of the tourist district. The 3-Diamond hotel is located on the 20 acre Falls Avenue Entertainment Complex along with Casino Niagara, Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, Hershey Store, Hard Rock Cafe and many of Niagara Falls top attractions and restaurants.
