Southlake, TX (PRWEB) September 4, 2009
Since its initial launch in 2001, the website for Grapevine Relief And Community Exchange (GRACE) in Grapevine, Texas has undergone many changes. But the newest version of the site that was created by i5 web works (http://www.i5ww.com/) is easily the most sleek and user-friendly GRACE website to date.
According to GRACE's Executive Director, Shonda Schaefer, "We developed our old website many years ago when GRACE was still a very young organization. Back then the site was small and basic, but it suited our needs. However, as GRACE grew, so too did our need for more content on the Web. We kept adding more and more pages to the old site, but eventually it just got so disorganized that visitors were having trouble finding basic things like our hours of operation and contact information. That's when we knew we needed a change."
Indeed, the old site was difficult to navigate because many links to important information were buried within paragraphs of text. The new design implemented by the i5 web works team allows users to move throughout the entire site using a navigation element at the top of each page. Additionally, a search bar at the top of each page makes finding specific content a breeze.
But the changes GRACE was looking for were not limited to navigation. "We wanted GRACE's website to draw people to get involved and understand what the organization provides to the local community," said Brian Zvonecek, GRACE Board of Directors Vice-President and the driving force behind the site's redesign. "As many donors view a nonprofit's website before donating, it is important to show the public a site that establishes trust and legitimacy."
To accomplish these tasks, i5 web works reorganized the monthly GRACE newsletters, allowing site visitors to easily find out about the goings on at GRACE and to learn more about the organization's mission to the community.
I5 web works also added a new space on the site for advertising. Schaefer praised this addition, noting that by selling ad space on the website, GRACE would have more funds to pour into community service.
"Our experience with i5 web works was spectacular," Schaefer said. "We told the team what we hoped to achieve with the new design and they made it happen for us. Now our website gives the public an accurate first impression of our organization and really helps us connect with the community in which we serve."
