This Labor Day, many people will be coping with employment struggles. Losing a job can be a tremendously stressful event that leads to panic and despair. Creative thinking expert Javy W. Galindo challenges job seekers to think differently, which could lead to a more satisfying and fulfilling career.

He recently wrote an easy-to-read and humorous 250-page book that clearly illustrates the creative process, "The Power of Thinking Differently: An Imaginative Guide to Creativity, Change, and the Discovery of New Ideas".

"When we are stressed, we can become trapped in habitual thinking patterns," he said. "This limits our perception of what is possible and narrows our access to alternatives."

Laid off from his job as an electrical engineer in 2007, Galindo turned a setback into an opportunity, going on a two-year journey to explore the science and psychology of creative thinking.

Galindo, also an artist who minored in philosophy and music theory at the University of California, said that job seekers should first try to relax, and then question their assumptions about how to find employment and earn a living. He added that creative insights most easily come when people are more relaxed and are having fun with the process.

Galindo is earning praise from experts and peers for his methods, insight and engaging writing style.

"What the world needs now is a way to break free of old ways of doing things and learn to think differently," said Clinical Psychologist Sylvia Lafair Ph.D., author of "Don't Bring it To Work: Breaking the Family Patterns that Limit Success." "Galindo gives us up-to-date tools and understanding so we can finally solve problems that have been hanging around for decades, even centuries."

Psychology Professor Craig Chalquist Ph.D., author of "Storied Lives: Discovering and Deepening Your Personal Myth," said that the book is "easy to read, providing instructions, anecdotes and research that maps out ways to bypass the 'self-limiting notion' that creativity is only for geniuses and artists."

Rob Walling, founder of The Micropreneur Academy, said that Galindo's book can help "re-shape the way you think about life and work."

"The Power of Thinking Differently" can be purchased for $13.99 through More information about the book and author can be found through the author's website at http or by calling (206) 426-1075.
